We had a great experience here! From the moment we walked into the door, the receptionist was very friendly and kind and the spa itself is small but the perfect size and really nice and luxurious from the inside.
The waiting area was stocked with fruits and beverages and the womens area was very clean and organized and really nice inside. My husband and I used our Groupons to get our 1 hour massages with Delfina and in my opinion it was one of the best massages I have ever had. She was just amazing from start to finish and focused on all the areas I told her to focus on. The massage bed with nice and heated and she let me choose 3 kinds of aromas to place in front of my face while I laid on my stomach. When my 60 minutes ended I really did not want to leave!!
I truly enjoyed everything about the spa and I am so glad that it is right next to my house. My husband and I are definitely going to visit again.

I've been here a couple of times for massages and facials, and even brought a friend for a pre-wedding relaxing treat. I've never used any coupons from Travelzoo or Groupon, but thought that the prices were pretty much reasonable for the package you get.
I took off a star because in every package I've paid for, they seem to forget to give us a Foot soak. Whatever. It's not a big deal once you're done with your heavenly facial and massage. I've had Delfina and Rei and seem to forget the others. I'm sorry. They are great! Massage and Facials were great and I dont want to leave. You can use the sauna as long as you want after your massage too. And I love that you're using Aveda products. That's a plus! I love the Ylang-Ylang aromas.
Mostafa (the manager) seems to be nice as well, and accomodating. One reviewer said, that the manager is demanding? Well, one time they had screwed up my appointment because the previous client needed a 90min massage and not a 60min massage. Mostafa was quite apologetic, and I didn't mind the honest mistake. When Reve first opened and was training this front-desk girl, they were apologetic and humble. I guess I'm just not one of your dramatic-emotional yelper. LOL!
Parking is close too! There's a parking garage the minute you cross the street. And it's in downtown San Mateo. I love!

Where to begin? From start to finish I had a fantastic experience at Reve. The manager, Mostafa, is so accommodating and friendly. I felt immediately welcome and at ease when I checked in for my appointment.
The salon itself is extremely clean and feels luxurious; there's a lot of space for lounging before your appointment with comfy leather chairs, and a locker room that provides everything you need to start relaxing. I spent some time in their steam and sauna rooms before my 60-minute massage and immediately started feeling calmer.
My massage, with Maria, was fantastic. She was very communicative (but not in an annoying or obtrusive way) and made sure my experience was a great one. I felt really pampered and taken care of. The only bad thing about my massage was in the last five minutes when I was anticipating it ending!
Reve was definitely what I needed after nearly ten hours of travel from the east coast! I owe Maria (and Mostafa!) for that. I'll definitely be going back the next time I'm in the area.

I don't know why everybody else has had a poor experience here but I had a WONDERFUL time yesterday.
I bought their groupon for massages for my husband and I. The owner was very friendly and gave us a quick tour before our appointment.
We both had the 60 minute massage. My therapist was Rei-- I can't remember who my husband had. We both felt AMAZING afterwards and decided that we would make this a regular experience for us. The sauna and steam room were both available for use-- neither of us used them, however.
Will be back soon!!!

I had a great experience at Reve Aveda Spa. I started with a cup of tea at their tranquil lounge, then headed to the steam room, which felt "detoxifying" followed by a 60-min massage with Delfina. Just perfect! It was very relaxing! I also had a facial... another de-stress experience. The place is clean and elegant. I will definitely come back.

My experience at Reve Spa was great. I had a massage and a facial and they were both very good! The people here are friendly and the facility is clean and inviting.
I scheduled the massage and the facial back to back. They ended up runnning 35 mins late for the facial which in itself wasn't bad since I could spend the time in their steam room. Just make sure you put enough money in your meters. I ended up worrying about getting a ticket during the treatment while I should have just relaxed. Overall, I had a wonderful afternoon at this Spa.

I was skeptical about going today after reading many negative reviews. I had a very enjoyable experience and left feeling relaxed after my one hour reflexology massage. I was helped as soon as I walked in by a very personable and friendly girl. The bed I was on for my entire massage was heated which was wonderful since it is a cold and rainy day. Unfortunately the steam room was not working today....

I am very surprised at all the 1 star reviews I've seen. For me, I had a great experience. My friend and I went on a Friday morning for facials and we were greeted right away. I liked the ambiance of the place, the music was very peaceful and everything was kept clean. There was also an area where they had complimentary fruit and drinks. My esthetician took me back to the room on time and she was very sweet and courteous. I believe her name was Ellie. She payed attention to the specificities I had written down on my paper work, for example: the ultimate goal for me was relaxation, the most pain I had was in my shoulders etc. The assessment she gave me about my face and skin was detailed and she recommended a few products, which I of course bought (and love). When it was all done, I asked how much an eyebrow reshape and touch up would be (since I forgot to book it), she told me it was $15, checked to see if she had a client after me (which she didn't) and touched up my eyebrows for free. I LOVE my eyebrows and even today (the day after my appointment) my skin still feels soft. The check out was easy and the lady up front was very helpful. I booked an appointment again with Ellie. I will definitely be going back monthly to see her.

I had a wonderful time at Reve Spa Salon. It is incredibly clean, the staff and owner and very warm and friendly, the facilities are great (steam room, sauna), they use/sell wonderful Aveda products, and they provide little things that make your experience warm and fuzzy - hot tea, fruit, and little chocolates.
I had a 90 minute massage and my therapist Grace was amazing. It was definitely one of the best massages I've ever had. Only thing I would change is that the 90 minute massage includes 30 minutes of aromatherapy, in which they cover your body in peppermint oil (very nice) and exfoliate your skin. It was very nice and some people really like this, but I personally would have preferred 90 full minutes of massage. I think a 60 minute massage would include about 20 minutes of aromatherapy. I'm sure you could ask your massage therapist to just skip it if you'd like.
It was a wonderful experience and I would definitely go back.

I went here because a friend gave me a gift card for a massage, and it was awesome. The business has just been completely remodeled and so everything is new and has a very contemporary look. Upon entering the spa i was greeted with a warm welcome from the two people behind the counter, who were both polite and attentive to my requests.
I very much enjoyed my 60 minute massage, which included a pass to their sauna and steam room, both of which were very relaxing. There is a very nice relaxing feel to this place, with a calming ambiance and soothing music playing in the background. I also liked how the staff offered me plenty of tea and water. The customer service here is excellent and that always counts for a lot.
I would definitely go back, or get a special person one of their massage packages.

This place is modern, simple, basic. The small sauna and steam room come at an extra fee, and you have to "turn it on" and wait for it to heat - which is slightly inconvenient. This is not the Four Seasons or Nob Hill Spa, but they are at the $140 price range. This is $85.00 / hr. Good pricing. I received a deep tissue from Rie (Rei?) SHE IS AMAZING. Hard pressure, intuitive, flowy (not choppy), thoughtful. She also incorporated aromatherapy Aveda oils into the massage.
I am not always in the "loungey" spa mood.....and sometimes prefer massage as functional, routine upkeep for my body. I also hate spas that are a continuum of "bridal parties" and massive groups of women chattering - it annoys me. This place is a perfect option for me.

I get a facial here every six weeks or so and it's great times.Lauren my esthetician is not only great at what she does but a totally warm and wonderful conversationalist.She can also wax a fierce brow into shape ! Aveda products are primarily used and I love them.I live in San Francisco but make the trek down to SM and it's worth it

What a wonderful world REVE can be. Peace of mind and peace of Soul. My friend and I visited Reve yesterday and experienced bliss. We both had the eye treatment, which included cooling eye treatments and massage of the head and neck. Next we experienced a therapeutic, serentiy massage from Jacob. after completing a questionnaire about how i carry stress, he offered me the choice of three aromatherapy scents for my based on my fire sign. I get a massage at least 6 times a year and he is one of the best I have ever had. His back work is especially enticing and new. He focused on the spine for a long time and it really relaxed me. While I was getting massaged, my friend was able to enjoy a sauna and a steam plus, a great rain-forest shower with Aveda products galore. I cam right home and shared the news with my neighbor and I will continue to spread the good word about this new spa in town. The front desk was great, the eye work was done by Lauren who was amazing. Ya Lee at the front desk is a superstar. The spa is lucky to have her. She is friendly and knows all about the extensive Aveda products they offer for sale in the lobby.

I was surprised when I saw some negative reviews about this spa. I have had my facial with Ya for two times and both experiences are great. Ya is caring and provides suggestions how I can take care of my skin after my facial. I have a sensitive and dry skin type, so when I explained to Ya, she really paid attention and guide my how to improve my dry skin. I am very happy about the service and the outcome after I had two facials. Also, the place is really clean and it also provides tea with flavor that made me feel relax. I will definitely go back to visit more. Thank you.

the groupon coupon was what got me through the door, but i really enjoyed the hour massage! daphina (sp?) was a great masseuse who listened to what i wanted - which was a good firm massage. nice surprise to have a small steam room and dry sauna in the women's locker room. the facilities were clean and new. it's a family business which i do like to support - the owner even gave us freshly made cookies from his daughter. we went at the end of the day, so the products in the shower were either out or running low (i.e. shampoo, body wash), but i'm sure i could have asked and they would have replaced it. i'm definitely going back - great local place with pretty good prices.
